gives users a 'drawing pad' on which they can design their control system.
Once built, it is passed on to
UCONLINE
for actual operation.
The brown portions of the diagram shown are a fixed representation of the plant (or in this case a simulation), provided by the instructor, on which the student can build his or her control configuration. The student has here begun construction, by connecting a level sensor with a valve actuator through a controller element.
All of these are Process Variables except for the Controller at the bottom. There are several controller algorithms available, but they are selected in the controller's panel, rather than being distinct types. (You may notice that there are no Input or Output variable types in the set shown. These are fixed in the plant itself, so the student has no need to place others.)
