UCONLINE
provides the connection between the control configuration the user has designed
and the laboratory plant (or simulation) that it operates.
A configuration comprises an appropriately connected set of Process Controllers
and Process Variables.
Process Controllers have Proportional, Derivative, and Integral terms.
Process Variables are really active elements of various types, such as
Input and Output, Summers, Multipliers, and Function Generators.
- The upper window is the Process Variable List,
where the current states of all variables in the system are briefly displayed.
Other operations on variables may also be initiated from here, such as creation,
deletion, and setting the type.
In particular, the user can display a panel for any variable that gives
complete information on, and allows access to, all its parameters.
- Below this is the Process Controller List.
This gives information on and access to Process Controllers in the same
way that the upper window does for Variables.
- At lower right is the Command Window.
Here the user can start and stop a run, set the period of computation cycles,
and so on.
Commands can also be entered here, rather than with the mouse, if preferred.
